In addition to Built of Rag and Bone , I’m also the creator/author of Children of the First , and helped set-up and design the websites for 1718: A New Orleans Reading Series and Better Basics Catering . I’m my own site admin for Built of Rag and Bone Children of the First so any complaints and/or death threats come to me.
A Little Backstory:
I recently graduated from Tulane University with a BA in English with a Creative Writing Concentration, and plan to continue on to an MFA (and possibly PhD) in creative writing. In addition to publishing my work, I hope to teach creative writing at the college level.
While at Tulane, I was the Prose Editor of The Tulane Review , a journal of literature and art published by the Tulane Literary Society , and was a member of the Seventeen-Eighteen Reading Series executive board, where I had the ambiguous title of "Obi-Wan."
I’ve had numerous articles and album reviews published in The Tulane Hullabaloo (before, during, and after my time as their lifestyle section’s reviews editor), including an interview with Sufjan Stevens . My poetry has been published in Left Behind: A Journal of Shock Literature and The Tulane Review (before I was an editor.)
I’m currently living with my parents in Maryland, ostensibly because they are selling their house to buy a farm and will need someone to work it, which would be perfect for me while I get my portfolio and everything in order for grad school. However, the house has not yet sold and we can’t buy the farm until it does, so I’m in a sort of limbo; living in a house that has to stay "market ready," waiting to have a farm to work on and a space I can write in. I shall make the best of it though.
As always, my best friend and faithful companion, Ozy (a ball python named after Ozymandias) has stuck by me and is very supportive of my work.
